Large black freshwater pearls which are treated to make tham black as this is not the natural colour.
These are old stock that have not been nucleated with a bead, instead it is a small piece of mantle. It takes many years to get pearls this size growing this way.
Pearls range from around 13.5 - 14.5mm, total length is approx 17.5” and are attached to a silver clasp.
Strand is fully knotted.
