Silvery Blue Double #2078

Sale Price:A$925.00 Original Price:A$1,225.00
sale

Fabulous silvery blue colour freshwater pearls. Great colour which is natural. There are obvious surface blemishes and this adds to their character.

They have a different look than regular freshwater pearls. This is due to the seeding process. Freshwaters were/are seeded differently than salt water oyster pearls. Multiple pearls are grown in each muscle with the original method and a round bead wan not used. A piece of mantle - or flesh - was inserted. Now many freshwater pearls are grown the same way as oyster pearls in that one pearl per muscle with a bead inserted.

These pearls were when the method was in its early stages so they have a different look. Now it is perfected and they can be mistaken for South seas and in some cases Akoyas and unfortunately are being sold as such.

Where ever you buy your pearls from you need to make sure they are reputable.

The strands are threaded one above the other so they sit like that on your neck. Short strand 17” and long one 18.5. Both are fully knotted and attached to a silver clasp.
